Hello, lovelies! We have unfortunately reached that transition of the summer season to autumn where what you wear in the morning will probably make you die of heat stroke by the afternoon. With the weather being so spastic, you have to dress in a way to where you can adjust your clothes to the weather. Today, I wore a very fall inspired outfit with a vintage plaid high waisted pant with a light, lacy blouse. I'm love thrifting so much. One of the best feelings is finding that one piece of clothing that you know, deep down, was made just for you. It fits you perfectly, the color looks great on you, and God definitely wanted you to have it.
What I'm Wearing
These wool trousers are one of my favorite Goodwill finds and I swear it was love at first sight. Lately I have been obsessed with the color yellow and these pants, having a red, blue, brown, and yellow plaid pattern, makes a very strong statement piece without being too overpowering. Also, these vintage trousers hold a very 1930's-1940's look to them, which in that era, the pants really accentuated a feminine waist line, but the pant legs give off a very masculine look... which I simply adore.
My top, also thrifted from Goodwill, gives off a very a sweet and nostalgic vibe which is very 1950's inspired. One of the biggest things that drew me to the top was the delicate lace overlay on the collar. The top, being a soft cream color, blends well with the faded yellow fabric used on the trousers. I am a sucker for anything with a lace collar... especially a peter pan styled collar. I have an unhealthy amount of collared shirts... and I wouldn't say I'm proud... but I'm not ashamed of it either. ^-^ Also, my pendant worn under my collar was a gift form my boyfriend (which has impeccable taste, I must say) and is a gold lace embellished piece with an opal surrounded by tiny rubies. Some people say that wearing opal when it's not your birthstone is bad luck... but I've been exceptionally lucky lately!
Here you see one of my favorite pair of shoes... ever. Penny loafers are one of the best shoes to have in your wardrobe. My loafers are stained with a classic oxblood color which blends with almost every thing I wear. One thing I do love about this color is that it adds a splash of color to any outfit without it being too vibrant. I've had these loafers for three years and are one of my "go to" pieces. These loafers are from G.H. Bass & Co. and I recommend getting a pair for yourself... you won't regret it!
I am a huge leather gal... and I will always wear a leather purse. My mother got me this lovely floral tooled satchel that my lovely mother got me for Christmas last year and I've been obsessed with it since. This bag is a Patricia Nash handbag and are very well made and extremely durable. I'm the kind of girl who loves to shove unnecessary items in her bag (like sneaking sandwiches into the movie theater) to where the purse looks like it's about to explode... and this purse passes the test. My bag is a very neutral leather color which blends well with most every outfit I wear.
